In this article i'm going to show you how to install ClockWorkMod (CWM) on samsung galaxy fame, what is CWM??
CWM is basically a custom recovery mode, samsung galaxy fame have built in recovery mode, and we're going to replace it with CWM.
CWM is a must have if you're going to use custom ROM on samsung galaxy fame, so pay attention this is important stuff.
Requirements :
- your phone (galaxy fame) already root
- terminal emulator app, download here
- CWM image file, download here
Copy the CWM image file to internal sdcard (/storage/sdcard0/), don't put it on a folder, just leave it there /storage/sdcard0/recovery.img , just like that.
Open terminal emulator app on your galaxy fame and then type following command (make sure you type correctly)
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/bak_recovery.img
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6
Now type this command to go to CWM recovery mode :
reboot recovery
Once you enter CWM mode, and then you're going to reboot system, you will be prompt whether you want to make permanent or not.
If you select Yes - Disable recovery flash, the CWM become permanent and you won't be able to see the stock recovery anymore ever!!
Do at your own risk !!! you have been warned
