How to play HD movie on Galaxy Fame

With 1Ghz single core cpu and a broadcom gpu theoretically samsung galaxy fame could not playback HD movies/videos. The hardware on galaxy fame just not support HD videos/movies playback, but don't worry there is a solution to this. In this article i will show you how to play HD movie (720p) on samsung galaxy fame.

You hear me right folks, samsung galaxy fame could playback HD movie (720p only) thanks to MX Player, which allows samsung galaxy fame to play 720p movie using the software decoder mode. MX Player is a free app available on google play store.

Not only i could playback 720p videos on my galaxy fame but also the subtitle is actually working, even more great news the MX Player support various video format such as avi, mkv, mp4, mpeg, mov, vob, wmv, flv, xvid, divx, 3gp, etc.

Here's some tips for movie playback on samsung galaxy fame using MX player.
  1. To avoid lag (sluggish video playback), make sure to turn off the data network (3G/HSPA connection) and wifi.
  2. Clear your ram / memory before playing any movie, use the ram manager on the task manager. You can open the task manager by press and hold the home button and select task manager icon on the left.
  3. Always store your movies on external card (micro sd card) and use only class 10 sd card.
  4. Make sure the subtitle name (if any) same as the name of the movie file, otherwise you will have to add subtitle manually.
Here's some movies that i test on my galaxy fame :
  • Fast and furious 6, resolution 1280 x 544 pixels, mkv format with subtitle, result : normal, no issue.
  • Sherlock holmes, resolution 1280 x 720 pixels, mp4 format with subtitle, result : normal, no issue.
  • Starship troopers invasion, resolution 1280 x 720 pixels, mkv format no subtitle, result : sound didn't came out, DTS sound codec missing.
So what are you waiting for? you want to be able playback 720p movies on your galaxy fame? go ahead download MX player on google play store, it's free.
