How to install CWM on Galaxy Fame using Odin

In my previous post, i already show you about how to install CWM on galaxy fame using terminal emulator, this time i'm going to use odin instead.

Odin is a very handy tool to flash samsung devices (including galaxy fame), you can also use it to install CWM.

Basically here's what you need to install CWM on galaxy fame using odin :
Once you have all that, you're ready to go !! Here's step by step how to install CWM on galaxy fame using odin.
  1. turn off the galaxy fame
  2. enter download mode, by press and hold power button + home button + volume down together at the same time during boot, if you don't understand read here.
  3. open odin on your computer/laptop
  4. plug the galaxy fame to the computer/laptop 
  5. odin will show what COM port, that means it can detect the phone
  6. extract/unzip the cwm_6.0.4.6.zip, you will see the recovery.tar.md5 file
  7. press PDA button on odin and then select the recovery.tar.md5 file
  8. press start button and wait
  9. the phone will reboot
  10. you can unplug the phone

Once finish, you can try test by going to recovery mode, reboot the phone and then press and hold power button + home button + volume up together at the same time during boot, or read here.

    1. you need to be on download mode and the computer should be able to detect the phone, make sure galaxy fame usb driver installed correctly on the computer

  2. Hi, thank you so much all work great but i have 1 problem when i want to install a rom i go to install zip --> /external_sd i got message ( can't mount /external_sd ) can you help me please please :) thank you for the great blog!
